Evil Stick
Estimated Reading Time: 6 minutes
Definition
An evil stick is a stingy implement that comes in small, various shapes on the end of a carbon fiber rod with a handle.
EKA Definition
I use this term as an umbrella term on my website for all of my resin toppers on carbon fiber rods with a handle. Some I would not technically classify as evil sticks when they get a bit larger and heavier, but for simplicity’s sake, I will be referring to all sizes of my variously shaped and sized resin topper impact toys as evil sticks on EKAmused.com, as well as on my Etsy.
Explanation
These are novelty impact toys that you use to either flick or smack a person with. When a person is hit with one, they will feel the sharp, initial sting of the hit. [The reaction is fun.] However, there is also often what feels like a secondary wave of pain that comes stinging along afterwards, and just keeps on stinging for a minute. [That surprise reaction can be even more fun.]
The surface area of the hit is so small and concentrated, and goes away after a minute or so, that while it can be very intense, it is not terribly long lasting or overwhelming in size. It can be a great intro to pain for a beginner, as either Top or bottom.
There will often be an adorable mark left behind in the shape of the topper. The mark could disappear within the hour or last up to several weeks.
Results will vary and are not guaranteed.
Negotiation
Discuss together beforehand where you will aim to hit, and the likelihood of marks.
The chance of a mark the next day, while not guaranteed, is still fairly likely. Because of this, you will want to be aware of where you might be leaving that mark. People don’t usually want to show up to work with a cute shaped bruise on their forearm. The thigh and butt are usually great spots.
If you do a more intense impact session, more than a couple hits, I recommend aftercare and check-ins in the following days, as drop may take place.

Pro tips
These may be a lower risk toy, but it is still recommended that you practice on an object like a pillow or similar first so you can make sure you are hitting where you aim, the topper lands flat against the skin, and not a sharper, unintended edge by accident.
The larger and heavier the topper is on the end of the rod, the more the risk goes up of the impact being able to go deep enough to hit the bones and organs beneath the skin.
If you pull the rod too far back on the smaller evil sticks that are made to be flicked with, the rod will snap. Ninety degrees is too far. Some bottoms have a high pain tolerance and these may not do much for them. As a Top, this will be disappointing. Unfortunately, the rod only pulls so far back before it will break.
If you are finding that you want more force behind the hit, try one with a thicker rod that is intended to be used to be smacked with rather than flicked with. They are heavier, and you can smack harder than you can hit.
